    Play and music at Gymboree

    DSC01729DSC01730DSC01733DSC01738

Jayden enjoys going to the gym. No....not to work on firming his thighs : ) He enjoys his time at Gymboree with lovely music, playing under a huge parachute and teacher lead activites! Gymboree is a place for babies his age to work on their mobile skills, recognizing sounds, interacting with other babies, and more. I enjoy taking him there because it allows a place and time for us to have fun outside of our home. He is in their Level 2 class. Soon, he will be joining the Level 3 babies when he turns 10 months. BTW, Jayden now has 8 teeth! He's growing so fast. To ease his discomfort with teething, I give him a teething toy to chew on and also feed him something to help ease his mind off of his itchy gums.

    Fun at Chuck E Cheezes

DSC01711For Summer's birthday, Jayden was invited to her party at Chuck E Cheezes. They have the best pizza and chicken wings! It was Jayden's first time on many of their rides and he was very curious on each one. You can tell in this photo Jayden's eye liting up with excitement. Thanks sister Summer for inviting me!

    Trip to Taiwan

    DSCN2021DSCN2086
We just returned from our 3 week trip to Taiwan and also to Thailand. The trip was a very nice one because Jayden saw his family for the very first time. Everyone says Jayden is very likable because he smiles back at you everytime. He has started learning how to crawl in Taiwan and now he is getting his 5th tooth. So much saliva flows from his mouth bucause he can't keep his mouth closed. Haha! He is a happy happy baby!

    First Haircut

First HaircutHere it is~first haircut by grandma. I wanted it to be this way instead of at a cutsie baby salon because it will be a special moment for both grandma and Jayden (more so for grandma) because we seldom see them. Jayden cried because he does not know how an electric rasor sounds like and why his neck is so itchy. He did let grandma finish the cut before he let out a big cry~

    Sam & Jayden

Sam & JaydenThis is my brother Sam who lives in Texas. We were just there for vacation. It is also Jayden's first time meeting with his cousin Jake (Sam's son). It's funny watching them when they are together. You can see their personalities surface. Jake is laid back, while Jayen gets excited and shrieks around Jake. This of couse scares Jake off. You can probably see in a couple of photos Jake crawling away from Jayden. LOL!! Hope we can go back again for Thanksgiving. It will be fun watching them together again.

    I can hold my bottle!

A few days ago, I was able to capture on camera Jayden holding his own bottle. He seems to realize what his hands are for now. He is also able to grasp and pick up toys. He will pick up the item, rotate his hand, and study the movement he is making.  Jayden on Bumbo Seat Laughing June 26 2008 001

Haha! I dressed Jayden up in a Burberry dress that is a gift for his cousin. I'm a silly mommy. But it was fun! However, Jayden probably won't agree when he is older and looks back at these photos Open-mouthed

    Disney and Zoo again!

We took Jayden to Disney and the Zoo again! This time we went to a different park...Disney Adventure Park & San Diego Wild Animal Zoo. We were able to visit many places lately because Terrence has decided to make Friday's family day. He used to teach 7 days a week. Now giving 1 day of the week off allows us something to look forward to. Jayden is so cute. He likes to make "n" sounds. He also puts his hands together and make gu-gu sounds. My good friend Rita gave Jayden a swing. And you can tell it's wonderful because he fell asleep on it! We are not sure where we will go this Friday. But a family day off is already very nice.

    An exciting month for Jayden

I need to write in my blog more often to let you know how Jayden is doing. It has been a while because the month of April has been a busy and exciting time for Jayden and us. He has had many first trip's to many places including out of state! Family member's have came to visit Jayden. He is a happy baby! We took the whole family to Disneyland, the beach, the zoo, and Seattle. Some people may worry how their babies will react on their first plane ride. So did I. But, Jayden was a very good boy! He did not cry at all...ok....just a little while landing into John Wayne Airport. Upon arriving to Seattle and our trip back, Jayden has allowed us to enjoy our trip without much stress. Overall, I think Jayden had a good time as well. Once we arrived home, Jayden removed all of his clothing....or we removed his clothing...because it was reaaly warm in California that day.

Some milestones Jayden has reached during his fourth months are: he can turn to one side, he squeels with delight, he sucks on both of his fist, he reaches for thing's in front of him, and he knows how to make us laugh...so funny! Hot

March 13th (Hold Your Head Up High)

When I place Jayden on his stomach, I am trying to get him to sleep so I can take a break. But when he tries to lift his head up, I think he is trying to show me that he is not ready to sleep yet. With a pacifier and gentle pat on his back...he eventually falls asleep Wink DSC00920DSC00915

    March 9th (2 months and 9 days old---13 pounds)

It's been exactly 1 month from today since I last wrote on the blog. Thing's have been kinda busy lately with the move into our new home. But I am happy to say we are all settled in our new nest 2 weeks later, and best of all...Jayden is enjoying his new environment. Please take a look at his recent photos. He started to gain "baby phat" when my mom was here taking care of Jayden. Now, he is a cute chubby baby Smile Jayden is allowing us to sleep approximately 5 hours at night now. He is eating 5 ounces of milk approximately every 4 to 5 hours. Sometimes every 3 hours during the day when he is more active. I will take some outdoor park photos next time. He enjoyed his first day at the park yesterday. Smiling at the grass, and trees...He didn't know there is a world outside the house. He enjoys the nice weather we are having at this time. I will try to upload more photos and update his blog.

    JAYDEN'S FIRST SMILE!!!!!

SMILE 2-9-08 #1TAKE A LOOK AT MORE OF JAYDEN'S FIRST SMILE IN THE MONTH OF JANUARY!!!!
    January 31

30 day old baby (10 pounds)

Jayden is now 1 month old. He is starting to recognize who his mommy and daddy are. His eyes is always wandering around the room, analyzing his surrounding. He knows how quickly we respond to his cries...sometimes way to quick...dropping whatever you are doing to attend to his needs. Good thing my sister can help feed him while I cook dinner yesterday. Last night, I was able to cook fish, noodles, and soup! It was actually quite delicious for a newbie Open-mouthed I am more health conscious than I am before. Constantly keeping Jayden on my mind when doing things, we had a cleaning person yesterday and I requested that he use environmental friendly products and less bleach so that it's safe for Jayden. Now, our world evolves around Jayden. Lucky him!

    Flu season

It's been a while since I wrote a blog on Jayden's page. Taking care of Jayden is starting to rob my time from working, organizing, cleaning, and doing other things. That's the way it will be until he grows older Baring teeth Our live-in nanny has also left today. However, my lovely sister is here to help me out for a few weeks Red heart My husband is getting over a cold. BUT, I am coming down with a bad cold today. I have a box of tissue and a glass of hot ginger water with honey next to my laptop. With the rainy season and the temperature difference during the day and night, it is very easy to catch a cold. Poor Jayden! We need to be especially cautious when handling his bottles and not to sneeze at him Embarrassed. I learned a baby is best to be sick-free during the first 6-8 months at the minimum inorder for them to build their immune system to our germs. Hence, we have anti-bacterial soaps and wipes all over the home Wink

Jayden is taking in more milk now...almost 3 ounces...equivalent to approximately 90 ml. That means he can sleep a bit longer...about 2.5 hours to 3 hours at a timeOpen-mouthed If I could share what I learned so far that I think is valuable regarding getting your baby to sleep....it would be the importance of swaddling (or wrapping the baby up). If you notice in the recent photos, he is wrapped up snuggly like when he was still in my tummy. He can now sleep longer without being interrupted in his sleep for his diaper change. That means more sleep for mommy and daddy! Speaking of sleep...I am off to bed now Sleeping half-moon

    He smiles!

My son is so cute! He gave a big satisfied smile after been fed breastmilk, followed with 3 more big smiles Angel What could he be smiling about? Is he happy because he is full? I wish I were able to know what he is smiling about. Jayden looks like an Indian boy now because his skin is a little red from sun exposure. We have to put him under indirect sunlight because he has jaundice (which is typical of babies with dark/yellow complexion). Otherwise, Jayden's skin was very pale/white and smooth with no wrinkles at all. My nanny said she has never seen a newborns skin so smooth. She said most newborns have wrinkles on their forehead, and Jayden didn't. I believe it may be due to the "pearl powder" that I took during my last 2 months of pregnancy Wink

My 11 day old baby boy

1 day old at the hospitalJayden was born on January 1st, 2008 @ 6:28pm.  Before I delivered my baby, my belly looked small compared to many. To many of my friends and the publics surprise, I delivered a 7 pounds and 11 ounce baby, stretching 18.5 inches long! We are thankful the baby and myself had no complications during delivery (although very painful indeed), and I'm recovering well. And yes, I had an epideral like many moms-to-be. Get the epidural if you can! It's too painful for anyone to endure! Thanks to the help of a live-in nanny/cook who will be here with us for a month, the caring of the babies stress load is being shared by her and my helpful husband. The nights are still very very stressful, waking up every 2 hour or less to feed or change his diaper. By the time I get his diaper changed, fed, and cradled to sleep, it is almost time for his next feeding. I have never been this stressful before! If you undertake a job of being pregnant, there is great responsibility and much time on your part to raise the children. It may be very stressful in the beginning. However, I am sure it will become better and better as he grows bigger. Just watching him grow each and every day makes all the stress in the evening worthwhile.
